Export Value


This is the value declared to US Customs–or whichever country you are exporting from.  It’s important to note that this is not necessarily the same as the import value on the destination side, or the GIK value, or the insurance value.


The export value is the value that Customs will look at to determine if you need to file an export clearance.  For instance, in the USA if your export value is less than $2,500, you will not need to declare to Customs, unless you have a vehicle or hazardous commodity.
